Information about the position

Our product team is looking for innovative developers to help us to build for the future. You and the team will be responsible for the complete software development lifecycle: analysis, design, build, test, and maintenance of ESET PROTECT cloud and on-premises product (link to the demo of ESET PROTECT Console: https://www.eset.com/uk/business/demo/). You will be joining an agile and self-organizing team that focuses on providing customers with continuously improving experience. In addition, we challenge one another constantly to improve, not to be afraid to propose fresh and novel solutions for tough problems, and experiment with new approaches and technologies.

Requirements for the employee

Personality requirements and skills

On your first day, we will expect you to have:

• Experience with one or more of the following high-level programming languages: C++, C#
• Knowledge of common software development principles (OOP, design patterns, unit testing, etc.)
• Skills with version control software (Git, Bitbucket)
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases
• Understanding and good grasp of server, multiplatform, and multithreading programming
• Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands-on experience with public or private cloud offerings (Azure)
• Understanding of microservices-based architecture and experience with microservices development stack (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
• Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum)
• Position is suitable for experienced developer with strong drive and problem-solving skills
• Passion to cooperate with colleagues and help them to grow
• Slovak or Czech language - B2 level (able to communicate written and verbal)
• English language - B2 level

It's awesome, but not required, if you have:
• Experience with NoSQL databases
• Experience with React or other front end JavaScript frameworks
• Experience with Python, GraphQL, UX analysis and design
• Willingness to learn and try new technologies (front-end, cloud, …)

Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses.

They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD. In 1992, together with their mutual friend Rudolf Hrubý, they formally established
ESET. What started as the brainchild of a few friends has evolved into the most valuable international brand of any Slovak company. Today ESET’s NOD32 technology protects over 100 million users across the world.

This success did not come overnight. The company’s global success and growth was given a boost in 1998 with its first “VB100” award from the prestigious Virus Bulletin magazine. Since then, we’ve
received this accolade more than 100 times. Today, over 1,800 employees around the world drive the company’s success – a telling increase from 3 in 1987 and 135 in 2006. Almost 900 of them are based in Slovakia, the home of ESET headquarters.
