Gilat is hiring a DevOps Engineer who will be part of creating the way for our DevOps environment.  The ideal candidate will bring their experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive DevOps initiatives. To be successful, one must effectively communicate with our development and testing team to orchestrate the creation of solutions that can scale. The responsibilities include building a process for automation as well as contributing to the development of internal tools to achieve operational efficiency.
As part of this team you will have the opportunity to make a major impact in the way that Gilat develops, tests and manufactures its products. Our Environment fosters product innovation, rapid product iterations and a liberating amount of autonomy.
 
What you will do:

• Create, maintain, and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services
• Implement infrastructure-as-code
• Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
• Support and work alongside a cross-functional development and testing teams
• Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments
• Continue to keep the lights on (day-to-day administration) 

Requirements:

• A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, Ruby, etc)
• Version control system experience (e.g. PlasticSCM, Git)
• Experience implementing CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins)
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform)
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in managing databases, Postgres, Vertica
• Deep knowledge with Linux operating system - CentOS / RedHat
• Bachelor or master’s degree in CS, or equivalent practical experience
• Effective communication skills/excellent teamworking and communication skills, strong problem-solving skills
• Strong technical skills, good system and infrastructure understanding
• IP Networking, firewall rules , Load-balancer and application security knowledge
• Virtualization 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to learn quickly
• Fluency in English and Romanian/Russian
